Tufted Duck (Aythya fuligula). Tufted Duck (Aythya fuligula). 

One pair in the main garden.  The male’s head, crest, neck, and upper breast are black with a purplish gloss.  The upper parts, vent and tail are also black but with a greenish gloss.  The female will nest amongst thick vegetation e.g. reeds or grasses and close to water.  The egg clutch size is 8-10 greenish-grey eggs
