New Zealand Shoveler (Anas rhynchotis variegate)

New to our collection this year are a pair of New Zealand Shovelers,.

Kept in the main garden they have settled in very well the Male being very colourful and the female much duller being buff to dark brown

Clutch size would normally be about 9 /11 creamy- white eggs faintly tinged with green.

Nesting would be normally be in depression in the ground or a hollow stump.
