One pair in the main garden. They look similar to the wigeon because of the high crown. During breeding the male will have a crown. The front of the head and cheeks are a bright metallic bronzy-purple: the remainder of the head from the eye back to the long, sleek nuchal crest is a deep glossy green. The female will nest near water in a nest box. The egg clutch size is 7-9 brownish eggs |
